The Aldo Grenache

Aldo (Steven's father) tended to a small vineyard in the Barossa his entire life with great care and consideration to produce the highest fruit quality. The 2020 Grenache ‘The Aldo’ was produced from Grenache from that vineyard. The vines are about 79 years old and are dry grown. The fruit was hand harvested and crushed into open fermenters with a small parcel going through natural fermentation. After 14 days on skins the wine was basket pressed to older French oak barriques for maturation. We bottle The Aldo early to capture the fresh fruit characters.

The 2021 Aldo Grenache is a deep cherry red colour with purple hues.

The wine shows lifted raspberry, plum, confectionary and spice aromas. The palate is rich with a well rounded mouth feel with excellent intensity and length, dark fruits dominate.
